Testing the Garmin inReach Messenger Plus in the desert—an ultrareliable satellite communicator with two-way messaging, photo sharing, and voice notes.

I have been using this for about six months now, and really like it. Does it replace my inReach Mini? I'm not quite sure yet. But I do love the voice-note feature a lot. I find myself checking in with my partner via voice note more often than typing out a little message. I also think the battery life on the inReach Messenger Plus is really great.

What Sets It Apart

The inReach Messenger Plus builds upon its predecessor by incorporating photo and 30-second voice message capabilities, thanks to the Iridium Messaging Transport (IMT) system. This advancement allows for richer communication, enabling users to send images and voice notes alongside traditional text messages.
