REI Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sale 2026: Deals, Dates & Member Coupons
Waiting for the REI Black Friday Sale 2026? Find Holiday Sale dates, member coupons, REI Outlet deals and Cyber Monday savings on outdoor gear.
The REI Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sale 2026 is coming, and if you have outdoor gear on your holiday shopping list, this is one sale season worth watching closely.
REI typically begins its major holiday promotions before Black Friday itself, offering discounts across hiking, backpacking, camping, running, climbing, cycling, snow gear, apparel, footwear, and more. REI Co-op members have also historically received additional opportunities to save through member coupons and Outlet promotions.
REI has not yet announced its complete Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026 sale lineup. We’ll keep this page updated with the official dates, discounts, member coupons, REI Outlet deals, and standout gear sales as they're announced.
REI Black Friday Sale 2026
The official REI Black Friday 2026 deals have not yet been announced, but we have a pretty good idea of what the holiday shopping season can look like based on previous years.
In 2025, REI's annual Holiday Sale ran November 14–24 and offered up to 30% off select gifts, outdoor brands, REI Co-op gear, and cold-weather essentials.
REI Co-op members also received two 20% off coupons during the 2025 event: one applicable to an eligible full-price item and another for an eligible REI Outlet item. REI Outlet also offered additional limited-time savings during the holiday shopping period.
Those offers don't guarantee that REI will repeat the same discounts in 2026, so we'll update this section when this year's promotion is confirmed.

When Is the REI Black Friday Sale in 2026?
Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026, followed by Cyber Monday on November 30, 2026.
But REI does Black Friday a little differently.
Since 2015, REI has closed its stores on Black Friday as part of its #OptOutside initiative. In 2022, REI made the closure a permanent employee benefit. Customers have historically still been able to place orders online while stores are closed, with processing and fulfillment resuming afterward.
So when people talk about an "REI Black Friday Sale," they're often talking about REI's broader Holiday Sale and Cyber Week promotions, rather than a traditional in-store doorbuster event on Black Friday morning.
And frankly, we think going hiking instead of fighting over a TV at 5 a.m. sounds pretty good anyway.
What Was the REI Black Friday Sale in 2025?
REI's primary Holiday Sale ran November 14–24, 2025, with savings of up to 30% on select outdoor gear, gifts, cold-weather equipment, and products from REI and other major outdoor brands.
REI members also had access to the always-popular coupon structure during the event:
REI Co-op Member Coupons: Members received two 20% off coupons—one for an eligible regular-price REI item and another for an eligible REI Outlet item.
REI Outlet: Select Outlet gear was discounted by as much as 55% during a limited November 18–20 promotion in 2025, with eligible members able to use their Outlet coupon during that period.
REI Membership Promotion: New members who joined and spent at least $50 during the eligible 2025 promotional period received a $30 member bonus card.
We'll replace these historical details with the 2026 REI sale information as soon as it's announced.
What to Shop During the REI Black Friday & Holiday Sales
The sheer size of REI's catalog is what makes this sale particularly interesting. Instead of shopping one manufacturer's lineup, you can potentially find deals from many of the outdoor brands we regularly recommend across Southwest Hikes.
Hiking Jackets & Outdoor Apparel
Black Friday and the broader holiday season can be an excellent time to pick up expensive technical apparel, particularly if you've already identified the jacket or layer you need. REI carries brands we regularly use and recommend, including Arc'teryx, Outdoor Research, Patagonia, The North Face, Smartwool, Fjällräven, and REI Co-op's own apparel.
Hiking Shoes & Trail Runners
Footwear is another category we'd watch closely. Trail runners and hiking shoes eventually wear out no matter how much we wish they wouldn't, so a good sale can be an opportunity to replace a pair you already know works rather than experimenting simply because something is discounted.
REI carries major trail footwear brands including Altra, Salomon, La Sportiva, HOKA, Oboz, and KEEN, giving you considerably more options than a brand-specific sale.
Tents & Sleeping Gear
If you've been putting off buying a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, or other expensive piece of backpacking equipment, this is where REI's percentage discounts can become particularly useful. A 20% discount means considerably more when you're buying a $500 tent than when you're buying a $25 accessory. It's also one of the reasons the member coupon is worth watching each year.
Packs
REI carries everything from small hiking packs to full backpacking systems, including equipment from many of the brands we test at Southwest Hikes. If you already know the pack you want and it isn't included in a broader promotion, an eligible member coupon can sometimes be the more interesting deal.
Winter Gear
The timing of REI's holiday sale makes winter equipment another category to watch. Insulated jackets, base layers, gloves, winter boots, traction, snowshoes, ski apparel, and other cold-weather equipment can all appear among REI's seasonal promotions. If winter adventures are on your calendar, it's worth checking the sale before paying full price elsewhere.
Don't Forget About REI Outlet
One of the easiest things to overlook during REI sale season is REI Outlet.
Outlet carries past-season and discounted gear from major outdoor brands, and REI currently advertises savings of up to 50% on past-season styles.
The really interesting opportunities come when REI offers an additional member coupon applicable to an eligible Outlet item. That's exactly what happened during the 2025 Holiday Sale, when members received a separate 20%-off Outlet coupon.
If the same structure returns in 2026, we'll post the coupon and terms here.
Is an REI Membership Worth Having for Black Friday Sales?
You don't have to be an REI member to shop at the co-op, but membership becomes particularly relevant during major sales.
REI frequently offers member-specific coupons and promotions alongside its general sale prices. The co-op also provides ongoing membership benefits including free standard shipping, access to Re/Supply used gear, an extended satisfaction-guarantee window, discounts on certain shop services, and an annual Member Reward on eligible purchases.
As of REI's 2025 holiday season, lifetime membership cost $30.
If you're already regularly buying hiking, running, camping, cycling, or snow gear from REI, the holiday-sale coupons can make membership particularly useful.

We'll keep this guide updated as REI announces its Holiday Sale, Black Friday, Cyber Week, and Cyber Monday deals for 2026.
Once the official sale drops, we'll add the exact dates, member coupons, REI Outlet promotions, and standout gear deals here. Until then, it's worth figuring out what you actually need, because a 20% coupon is considerably less helpful when Black Friday convinces you that you suddenly require a seventh fleece.
