Putting the insulation of the Classic Easy-Pour Growler 64oz by Stanley to the test during a car camping adventure!

If you love road trips and car camping, you probably love a good insulated bottle too! Today I'm reviewing a behemoth of an insulated bottle: Stanley's Classic Easy-Pour Growler, which is a 64 ounce double-wall vacuum insulated stainless steel bottle. Stanley claims that this growler can keep drinks cool for 24 hours and hot for 18 hours. So I put it to the test during an especially chilly road trip/car camping extravaganza this winter.

Check out this review to see if the Classsic Easy-Pour Growler lived up to the Stanley hype!

My Experience with the Classic Easy-Pour Growler 64oz By Stanley

I was initially very stoked about the Classic Easy-Pour Growler because of its giant size. It can hold more than a whole pot of coffee. Which to me, makes it so unbelievably awesome. Most big insulated bottles can hold 3/4 of a pot max. And for those of us who need a constant stream of coffee, that is simply not enough. Stanley's claims of 18 hour heat retention also was intriguing me to, so I put that to the test first thing!

On a car camping trip in south east Utah, lows were hitting about 10° each night. So on my first evening of camping, I made a french press of coffee and poured it into the Classic Easy-Pour Growler. Sealed it up with its burly latch system and left it out in the open on my truck's bed. When I woke up the next morning, the growler had been sitting outside in the cold for over 12 hours and was covered in frost. The air temperature felt brutal and I needed hot coffee immediately.

Waking up to hot coffee? Hell yeah! There is nothing better.

I unlatched the lid, flicked it open and the steam started to spill out in a glorious display of heat within! I started pouring the coffee into my very cute matching Stanley Stacking Pints, and was absolutely delighted to know that the Easy-Pour Growler was capable of insulating in such cold conditions for so many hours. I don't love making coffee when I wake up in the cold. Now I know when it comes to road trips and car camping, I don't need to! Woohoo!

Since that initial test, I have used the Stanley Easy-Pour 64oz Growler about 25 times in various road trip and adventure day scenarios. It's a great bottle. I love it for coffee and hot tea, but have also used it for on-tap kombucha. In that case, it kept my kombucha nice and cold for two full days, which is how long it took me to get home during the road trip I bought the kombucha on.

Hot herbal tea at a natural hot spring? Yes, please! The Classic Easy-Pour Growler 64oz by Stanley is easy to bring along on any kind of adventure!

During my time with the growler, I have noted its quality of course when it comes to insulation. But it has a high quality build too, as far as the latching system and handle are designed. I've never had an issue with the Easy-Pour leaking while it's banging around on the floor of my car, and even after being dropped a time or two, it looks basically new. Its big burly handle feels nice in hand and does in fact make it easy to pour.

I like to bring it with me for long errand days and days soaking in local hot springs. It's easy to tote along, and wow is it nice to have coffee or tea or whathaveyou in large volumes. A normal sized thermos is not enough for some of us. The Easy-Pour Growler is perfection at 64 ounces.

If like me, you like vast amounts of hot or cold drinks, the Stanley Easy-Pour 64oz Growler is a must. It is perfect for road trips, car camping and quite frankly day-to-day life when caffeine in great quantities is necessary. I'm sure this is also a great item for bringing to breweries and such. Be sure to check it out!
