Gear Review: Free Range Equipment Canvas Tote Bag

If you see one you love, definitely swoop it up. These bags are made in small batches and it seems like they do not get reprinted once the print has sold out. Such is the case with my beloved aspen tote!

Gear Review: Free Range Equipment Canvas Tote Bag
A great gear hauler for slow meanders up a hill to catch the sunrise

The world of tote bags is vast. So what sets a tote bag apart? Here at Southwest Hikes we believe the answer to that is a mix of durability, style, design and at least one feature that is particularly unique. And all those points are why we love the Canvas Tote Bag from Free Range Equipment.

These totes are spacious, with a few pockets. They have a classic style and comfortable to carry design. The one feature that is unique about them is the gorgeous and special artwork splashed across the canvas.

My Experience with Free Range Equipment's Canvas Tote Bag

Free Range Equipment's Canvas Tote Bag has been my do-it-all bag for the entire summer and autumn of 2024. I plan to keep using it, because I love it so much. It's my purse, work bag and shopping bag all in one very pretty tote.

I like the three pocket design. In the zipper pocket, I stash things like tampons, a mini first-aid kit and things I don't want to misplace. I keep post-its and pens, sunglasses and some protein bars in the other small pocket. My wallet, laptop and chargers fit in the big spacious pocket. And then I've got the whole main part of the tote bag for extra gear I might be toting around and for items I buy if I swing into a store. It's definitely very weighted down how I use it, but that doesn't impact the comfortable carry and it doesn't seem to be too heavy for the materials to handle.

One of the things I really like about the tote bag is that it's super easy to clean. The inside can be wiped down with a wet rag and it dries quickly. This has been awesome the few times I've had a kombucha leak or snack spill.

When I initially received this tote I kind of rolled my eyes about how expensive it was for a simple tote bag. But as I've used it month after month, I have to say, I think the price tag is worth it. It's a durable tote bag that I have gotten a ton of use from. And the beautiful art on the outside brings me a lot of joy. It makes me happy just looking at it. It's colorful and unique. And I was able to choose this pretty print that felt so custom to what I love: autumn aspen leaves dancing on a breeze. It feels like it was custom made for me.

I am positive that there is a beautiful print to suit everyone's taste over at Free Range Equipment and it's very cool that the artists who make the art cut a cut of the money made from each sale. If you see one you love, definitely swoop it up. These bags are made in small batches and it seems like they do not get reprinted once the print has sold out. Such is the case with my beloved aspen tote!
