As the temperatures start to seriously drop and the snow starts to fall, it's time to change out your gear! Cold weather hiking is a bit of a different beast and requires some extra thought when it comes to getting your backpack all set!

I acquired my first pair of Kahtoola RENAgaiters Low back in 2019 and I pretty much wore them daily for hiking and trail running. I really liked that they were simple to take on and off with their zipper, which shockingly never unzips itself.

I find them really easy to adjust and they're lightweight enough to toss in my backpack even if I'm not positive I'll end up using them.
